THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION’D SEVEN DIRTY WORDS

Lewis Carroll Alice in Wonderland wrote:

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

CarlinAll of us are, like Alice, caught up in a world made up insane people when it comes to this administration's policies. Why? Well because of the latest act of dishonest political self interest ignoring public needs by the Trump administration. The agency involved is the Center for Disease Control and Prevention- CDC- the nation’s top public health agency. The news reports the Trump administration has prohibited it from using a list of seven words or phrases in any official documents being prepared for next year’s budget.

Yes, that’s right. Specific words commonly used in science and research that the agency can't use in any budget report to Congress. The forbidden words are "vulnerable," "entitlement," "diversity," "transgender," "fetus," "evidence-based" and "science-based." Instead of "science-based" or "evidence-based," the suggested phrase is "CDC bases its recommendations on science in consideration with community standards and wishes."

The agency has also removed information about LGBT Americans from its website. The reaction of people in the CDC meeting where the news was announced was: "incredulous," people in attendance said. "It was very much, 'Are you serious? Are you kidding?' "

Yes, really shocking words, right?  It reminds me of the comedian George Carlin’s routine “Seven dirty words” the FCC had prohibited from  being used on television. However, those words were "Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, Cocksucker, Motherfucker and Tits," a lot more inappropriate than the CDC's seven dirty words. The CDC's words are prohibited not because they are shocking or inappropriate, but solely for political reasons to conceal and hide the truth about issues for consideration in the budget. The administration might as well add "Honesty, honor and national good" to its list of forbidden words.
