Our little Napoleon has been the constant friend and companion of Lita and me for fifteen years. He suddenly became sick on Thursday and progressively got worse over the next couple of days. We took him to the vet who felt it was serious so we transfered him to an emergency animal care clinic where tests were done. Blood work and ultra sounds plus other testing was done and repeated. It turned out to be a serious problem. Lita and our friend Julie managed his care. They stayed  with him conferred with the vets about him. But, within three days it was clear that he was in a state from which he could not recover and it was best his long life was ended without any more suffering yesterday. I was in Mexico, so Lita and Julie had to made the hard choice. He died in their arms last Sunday. Were were all devastated. I cried when Lita told me. He had become such a part of our everyday life it was like losing a child for us. Our other Bishchon is Josephine. We aquired her when she was a puppy and Nappy was a grown dog. They were totally bonded and now she is lost. She sits at the door waiting for him and looks around the house for him. I didn't know how painful it is to lose an animal you love. When I return from Mexico I will publish photos of our little friend I miss so much.
