Alberto Gonzales is Only The Tip of the Problem of The Bush Administration

There has been so much already written about the resignation of Alberto Gonzales as Attorney General that I hesitate to even add a comment. However, as pointed out by Representative Louise Slaughter in her blog Gonzales entitled "Restore justice to the justice department," what does bear further comment is the issue of the total lack of integrity the Bush gang has brought to our government. As she correctly points out his resignation is the product of a pattern we have seen time and time again under this administration. Federal positions and agencies have been twisted into political instruments of the Bush White house favoring big business and the Republican party. As I’ve pointed out before (5/8/07) the Bush administration pays no attention to the requirement of good qualifications in these appointments. Instead it applies the litmus test of loyality to Bush goals even if at the price of harm to our world  enviornment or corruption of constitutional principles. The result has been corruption of agency purposes and science within governmental agencies. We have seen out and out fraud with regard to revision of scientific research to conform to administration policies favoring the rich and the powerful. We have also seen the initial function of the agencies totally twisted into partisan interests favoring big corporate interests under the Bush administration. Gonzales, like his good friend Karl Rove, leave an inheritance of damage done to constitutional principles, the minimizing of the importance of integrity in government and general corruption on a mammoth scale. I fear these largely insolvable problems and Iraq will be dumped in the lap of the incoming administration which hopefully will be Democratic as the Bush administration "stays the course" of insane policies until the end.
